State Auditor Dennis Milligan Administers Check to Dean’s Pharmacy

Pharmacy’s unclaimed property totals just over $39,000

May 23, 2024 (DeWitt, Ark.) – Auditor of State Dennis Milligan’s office delivered an unclaimed property check today to Dean’s Pharmacy in DeWitt totaling $39,138.39. These funds were located by Milligan’s office, which administers the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt

The check was presented with the help of DeWitt Mayor, James Black, and was received by pharmacy staff.

“Unclaimed property can be any number of items, such as unpaid life insurance benefits, forgotten bank accounts, certificates of deposit, contents of safe deposit boxes – you name it,” Milligan said. “Since I took office in January 2023, we’ve returned more than $30 million to citizens through the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt.”

When owners abandon an account – through a move or a death, perhaps – and the company cannot locate the owner, the money or properties are submitted to the Auditor of State’s office. The office’s Unclaimed Property Division then works to connect property to its rightful owner through the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt program.
