Milligan Sworn in as Auditor of State, Takes Official Oath of Office

Jan. 10, 2023 (Little Rock, Ark.) – Dennis Milligan, a successful businessman and former State Treasurer, was sworn in as Arkansas’ 41st Auditor of State today, taking the official oath of office.

As Auditor, Milligan will serve as the state’s accountant and ensure payroll for the state’s executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. Additionally, he will oversee the state’s Unclaimed Property Division and work to reconnect Arkansans back to property that is rightfully theirs.

“I am delighted that Arkansans have placed their trust in me as their next Auditor of State,” Milligan said. “In my former role as Treasurer, I worked alongside past Auditor Andrea Lea and have no doubt I’ll have a seamless transition into this office.”

Milligan has spent the last 25 years in public service, addressing corruption and restoring trust at both the county and state levels. He served as Saline County Circuit Clerk from 2011-2015 prior to being elected to two terms as Treasurer of State. As Treasurer, he earned the state its highest investment receipts in history at more than $600 million.

He is a lifelong Arkansan and is married to his junior high school sweetheart, Tina. They have one daughter and son-in-law and three grandchildren.
