I am pleased to announce the start of the Arkansas Unclaimed Property Data Match initiative. This was a long-worked project that I wanted as I came into office in 2023. With the passage of ACT 114, I am now authorized to match your unclaimed property to you…without you having to find and submit a claim.

The process, known as the “data match initiative,” is already adopted by 24 other states. It allows me to send checks to individuals with unclaimed funds between $50 and $5,000, provided the owners’ information is validated through multiple identity-verification processes. The process will only apply to individual claims. Heirs making a claim for a deceased relative, businesses and nonprofit organizations, or people who are owed mineral rights, tangible items or securities will still need to file a claim through the traditional process via the website www.claimitar.gov.

If matched, you will receive a letter in the mail from me notifying you of a “data-match claim.” This allows me to ensure the proper address of your claim and to inform you about it.

You DO NOT have to do anything unless your address is incorrect! It only takes a few short weeks for our process to find your claim, verify the data, and send out checks.

Thank you for your faith in me to make government work more efficiently. This data match initiative will allow me to return several million dollars back into Arkansans’ hands, where it rightfully belongs.

What is data match?

During the 2025 legislative session, the legislature unanimously approved a bill (sponsored by Sen. Dave Wallace of Leachville and Rep. Jon Milligan of Lake City) that allows my office to automatically mail unclaimed property checks to individuals, so long as the value is less than $5,000.

Is this only for individual claims?

Only individual/one owner claims

I have unclaimed property for my business. Is this included with the program?

No, you will need to search for those properties and submit your business claim on our website.

When will I receive my money?

In about 6-8 weeks from the date of this letter, you will receive a check at the address listed on the letter. No action is required on your part to receive this money.

Do I have to fill out any paperwork?

No.

What is ACT 114?

ACT 114 was passed by the Arkansas Legislature in 2025. This monumental legislation authorizes the Auditor of State to create and operate the data match program linked to the Arkansas Unclaimed Property Program. I got a letter in the mail from you. Is this real?

If you receive a letter like this in the mail, it is very real. You have unclaimed property I am holding, and you qualify for the data match program. I am sending out notices to confirm your address, inform you about the Unclaimed Property Data Match Program, and outline what to expect.

Yes. You can call 1-800-CLAIMIT (1-800-252-4648). You will need your Social Security number.
