Located in the Auditor of State’s operations office in Suite 325 of the Victory Building, the Warrants Division disperses all warrants (checks) made in payment of the state’s expenses. Most payroll and many expense checks are deposited directly into financial institutions but the division continues to mail payment stubs to various state agencies, employees and vendors. The Warrants Division disperses thousands of warrants a week by mail or through a secure in-person pickup process managed by the division staff. The warrants division also works with banks and check cashers to verify warrants, investigate check forgeries or replace lost warrants.
Warrants Division staff also handle secure deposits for Unclaimed Property and provide general information to the public over the phone and to walk-in visitors.
